Over the last 12 months our team have provided coverage of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games, ARIA Music Awards and Sydney New Year’s Eve, the latter of which is seen by over 1 billion people each year.


In 2011 Whatever Entertainment Group was appointed by Google to facilitate YouTube’s biggest ever promotional undertaking - the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Featuring 101 musicians from 33 countries the YTSO has been YouTube most successful live stream. So far over 38 million people have viewed the Grand Finale concert held at the Sydney Opera House.

Ean Thorley

Executive Producer

Is a true trailblazer across the globe with MTV Networks since 1989. Ean played a key role in MTV’s new emerging Asia markets, helping successfully launch MTV’s expansion throughout Asia Pacific Rim having been involved in the channel’s launches and managing production departments in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia. 

He has produced in excess of a hundred large scale events from award shows to entertainment events across the globe, he produced the first ever Chinese Music Awards in Beijing and most recently the last four MTV Australia Video Music Awards and Executive Produced the MTV Base music series, ‘Advance Warning’ in Nigeria and South Africa. In 2010 Ean executive produced the Astra Awards, Aria Awards and Sydney New Year's Eve Fireworks. Most recently produced the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, which was the biggest broadcast event ever for YouTube.

Nicholas Goldsworthy

Nik recently joined forces with Ean Thorley to produce the 2011 YouTube Symphony Orchestra after working at International Management Group for four years where he worked as an EP and Business Development Manager for IMG’s television and new media division, IMG Media.

There he forged new business opportunities across sport, factual and entertainment. In 2009 Nik changed the way the City of Sydney views its New Year’s Eve coverage and allowing it to better meet its objectives as well as those of its stakeholders, Events NSW and Tourism NSW reaching over 1 billion people for the first time. In 2008 he was the Chief Operation Officer for the Sydney World Youth Day Host Broadcast, a comprehensive 18 hour, week long coverage that included the Papal Mass at Randwick attended by 500,000 people.

Production Designer

A graduate of the worldly acclaimed National Academy of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), Julio’s concepts and creative execution have led him to become one of the most sought after designers in the Asia-Pac region.  He was the assistant designer for the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games and has been the production designer for the 2005-2009 MTV Australia Video Music Awards, 2004-2011 Nickelodeon Australia Kids Choice Awards. Recent credits include Australian Next Top Model (2010/2011), Camp Orange and Sea World ‘s Nickelodeon Show Extravaganza.

Julio also designed concepts for the global children’s television franchise Hi-5 and Australian-produced segments for Sesame Street. Production designed the Semi-Final and Final of MTV’s Advance Warning in Lagos, Nigeria. Most recently his works include the YouTube Symphony Orchestra, Aria Awards, Australia's Next Top Model, both the show and House Design and Astra Awards.

Emily has worked with some of the biggest names in live entertainment including John Legend and the Roots, Usher, Justin Timberlake and Robbie Williams.  Emily recently joined Whatever to work on the 2011 YouTube Symphony Orchestra and has never left.
